B L A D D E R C A N C E R
Dear Team:
This is my true story. It is documented and verifiable.
Dec. 2001
Diagnosed with Bladder Cancer. Surgery Christmas Eve and again Christmas Day,
4 large papillary tumors removed. Severe post-operative bleeding. Admitted
for 6 days St, Joseph West Hospital Clinton TWP, MI. Urologist hoped he had
removed all of the cancer.
Pathology showed high grade transitional Cell Carcinoma with Ango-Lymphatic
invasion ( Cancer Cells in my Blood Stream ).
Jan. 2002
Biopsies now show T.C.C. and carcinoma in Situ ( C.I.S.
) cancer cells in the Lining of my bladder. My world is crumbling.
Feb. 2002
Began 6 weekly installations of BCG ( Tuberculosis
Bacteria ) into Bladder thru a catheter. Supposed to stimulate an immune
response and kill the cancer cells.
Mar 2002
Everyone says I should get to a Cancer Center and see a Urologist
Oncologist. Went to William Beaumont Hospital in Royal Oak. MI. My Urology oncologist reviews my records and recommends removal of
my bladder and chemotherapy. I refuse. There must be other options.
April 2002
BCG treatments are completed. I am now seeing a highly recommended Urologist
Oncologist at the Taubman Cancer Center at the University of Michigan Hospital.
A cystoscopy is performed ( a visual inspection of
my bladder ). 6 new tumors are discovered. The BCG treatments have failed.
Surgery is scheduled to remove the tumors.
May 2002
Tumors removed in surgery at U.of M Hospital. Pathology shows high grade
T.C.C. with C.I.S. All tumors have Angio-lymphatic invasion. Oncologist
recommends removal of bladder and possible chemo. I refuse. There must be
other options.
Very desperate now. I pray fervently to God for guidance. My wife Jane, recommends I take charge instead of being a passive
by stander. I dive into books and the Internet.
Jun 2002
A business associate recommends complimentary / alternative doctors Quentin
McMullen and his wife Molly McMullen-Laird of Ann Arbor,MI.
who practice anthroposophical medicine which is centered around mistle toe (
Iscador ) injections and a whole body approach they have a one year waiting
list if a attend their 2 week summer retreat in July, they can treat me as a
new patient. Immediately.
July 2002
I attend the 2 week summer retreat. This is the first support and
encouragement I have received. Cancer patients from all over the U.S. attend and the staff is mostly from Germany ( Birthplace of Rudolf
Steiner and Anthroposopical Medicine ). I leave renewed and for the first
time I have a sense of hope.
July 2002
Have not given up on conventional medicine entirely. I begin 6 weekly
installations of BCG with alpha interferon with a local Urologist.
Sep 2002
Cystoscopy reveals 3 new tumors. Surgery scheduled for late in month.
Scheduled for late in month.
Sep 2002
Dr. Gary Tunsky of Dallas, Texas ( an alternative Doctor I
have been consulting with over the phone in the areas of detoxification diet
an supplements ) brings Poly MVA to my attention. He states that it will work
synergistically with iscador and that he feels I am an excellent candidate
for Poly MVA.
Sep 2002
Surgery to remove new tumors at ST. John Hospital, Detroit, MI. My Urologist removes 2 tumors and leaves a ¾ "
( 1.5 cm. ) tumor in my bladder stating that
it was too close to my left uriter to remove safely. I am devastated. He
recommends removal of my bladder. Once again I refuse.
The Pathology report also shows T.C.C. with C.I.S. High grade.
Oct. 2002
I begin Poly MVA and continue with iscador, diet, and supplements. I was
fortunate to speak with Gary Matson who while making no claims about Poly MVA
offered much needed support and encouragement.
Oct 2002
I meet with Dr. Steven Margolis M.D. a Poly MVA practitoner
. He recommends a Urologist who will do
periodic cystoscopys to monitor any progress.
Nov. 2002
New Urologist also recommends removal of bladder. I refuse. Then recommends
removal of ¾ " tumor. Again I refuse as I am all through with surgeries !.
Finally he recommends a CT scan an cystoscopy for
Dec. 30.
Dec. 2002
Urologist reviews CT Scan report. It shows thickening of bladder wall ( probably from multiple surgeries) but cancer has not
metastasized. He is very taken back looking at my
bladder through the scope. Says he expected to see much worse. No new tumors
and the ¾ " tumor looks more like ½ " best news in a year. God has
answered my prayers.
Mar 31. 2003
This will be a real test. Urologist performs cystoscopy. He says no new
tumors and existing tumor is " Arguably smaller again " and it has
changed in a appearance to where he says " I
don't think I would even biopsy that spot." He also states that he is " Baffled, befuddled and bewildered " and that
" if I didn't know the type of bladder cancer that you have I would not
know it by looking at your bladder." I couldn't wait to tell everyone. I
have scheduled my next cystoscopy for Jun 30, 2003 and bid goodbye to my very perplexed Urologist.
One week later my Urologist calls to tell me that my cytology ( test of urine ) has come back positive for cancer cells.
He seems relieved to be able to tell me this as it fits his textbook.
However, my progress is undeniable and he still cannot explain the shrinking tumor , the changing in appearance of the tumor, ( "
I don't think I would even biopsy that" ) or why I have not had any new
tumors for 6 months.
I will keep you updated.
I would also like to thank God for his love and mercy. My wife Jane for being
by my side through every twist and turn. Ken Walker for his inspiration.
Elaine ( a very special friend ). Gary Matson for
always being there to buck me up when my knees wobbled. To all of the Heroes
who went before me and wrote encouraging testimonials and had faith that
there was another way. Last but certainly not least, Dr. Merrill Garnett
for thinking outside the box.
If I can be of help to anyone do not hesitate to call me .
Gratefully,

UPDATE: 2-2-2004
From: Greg Sourvelis –Update Feb 2, 2004
June 2003:
Had another cystoscopy and not much has changed. Still no new tumors and
existing tumor still there over left orifice. Cytology still shows cancer
cells in urine. My urologist still recommending surgery to remove tumor. I am
still continuing Poly MVA but at about 4 teaspoons a day. Also continuing
with Iscador injections 3 times a week.
August 2003:
Office visit with Dr. McMullen in Ann Arbor, MI (Anthroposophical Medicine / Iscador Doctor). He
recommends that I have tumor surgically removed and that we begin an aggressive
protocol of Iscador Infusions (Intravenous) and Iscador bladder washes
shortly after surgery. Again, Iscador is the most commonly prescribed cancer
medication in Germany and is used as an adjunct or complementary treatment for cancer. Dr.
McMullen is an M.D./ Internist.
Sept 2003:
Have tumor (1/2) removed in surgery along with 2 new very small lesions. (Had
gone a whole year without new tumors!). Multiple tumors had been reappearing
every 4 months. It seems that the PolyMVA, Iscador, Diet, supplements, and
distilled water have helped to control the cancer. First and foremost though
it is only through GOD that this progress has been made. However, urine is
still testing positive for cancer cells.
OCT 2003:
Begin Iscador Infusions and bladder washes. Also still continuing with
PolyMVA 4 teaspoons a day.
JAN 2004:
Urologist does another cystoscopy and sees swelling) Inflammation and or
tumor) over left orifice closing off the flow of urine from left kidney into
bladder. He can’t say for sure if it is Edema (swelling) or tumor or both as
it is under lining of bladder. Since this is in the same spot as the 1/2 “ tumor, my urologist thinks that it is either a
recurrence or that not all of the tumor was removed in Sept 03 surgery as it
was in a very delicate area. Also there are no new tumors. He recommends
surgery again and does cytology (sends urine to local hospital lab for
testing). He also wants a CT scan of my abdomen and pelvis area to make sure
the cancer has not metastasized. I schedule the CT scan for Feb 16.
I called his office Jan 30 for the results of the cytology. For the first
time in 2 years the urine does not test positive for cancer cells! They are
“Atypical”. Not cancerous but not quite normal either.
This is great news, Thank GOD.
I will schedule surgery to remove area over left orifice (under bladder
lining) for early-mid March. Then we’ll know for sure if it is tumor or not.
I would like to do it sooner but work and other considerations preclude me
from doing it sooner. I just pray to GOD that my orifice does not close off
completely before then and block the flow of urine from my left kidney. The
surgery also lays me up for 3 weeks. I will also continue with Polymva and
Iscador infusions and bladder washes.
It has been my pleasure to speak with may people who have read my testimonial
and I remain ready and willing to continue to offer any assistance I can. I
will also update when possible. GOD Bless you all.
