In selecting a treatment there are three important factors to consider. The first is the effectiveness of the treatment, the second is the availability of the treatment, and the third is the cost of the treatment. The treatments selected in this book have all these three factors. There are other treatments that possess these three factors but have not been included in this book because of the time and effort and the space limitation. Nevertheless this book is a good start. It is possible that there will be a second book to include the other treatments that have these three factors. We must understand that one kind of treatment may be very effective for certain types of cancers but not for other types; different kinds of treatments may be effective for the same type of cancer; one treatment may be effective for one patient but not for another who has the same kind of cancer and symptoms. Our present knowledge of cancer disease and its treatments is still limited. It seems that the patient will need to do their own research and be acquainted with these more practical treatments, then select the one that he or she considers the best treatment.
